Welcome to the K2O! Select your distance, category, number of paddlers and class. Boat specifications for recreational and competitive classes are available in the race rules. When filling in the form if paddling as a solo paddler leave the second paddler details empty.

Safety Note: The Kingston 2 Ottawa is a marathon paddling event, during which the entirety of the route cannot be monitored. It is expected that all racers are able to self rescue and get to shore in the event of bad weather, capsizing or other unexpected events. Race staff have 8 checkpoints along the route to monitor racer progress. Support crews for racers are highly recommended to assist racers in the event of unexpected withdrawal. Transportation is not provided along the route.

Note: There are cutoff times at checkpoints along the route. Please be sure you can meet the required pace. See the Rules document under Race Info for details.

Selecting Adventure vs Competitive. Class is completely determined by what boat you paddle.

Canoe Specifications :

Adventure canoes

  • Maximum length 17'

  • Minimum width 32"

Competitive canoes

  • Any boat classified as "Pro"

  • Any boat classified as "Stock"

  • Any boat with length > 17'

  • Any boat with width < 32"

* width is hull width measured 4" above waterline.
